Our commitment

Waymap Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045 for its UK operations, covering scope 1 and scope 2 emissions and the following scope 3 emissions: upstream transportation and distribution, downstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, and employee commuting.

This commitment is published in line with NHS England's Net Zero Supplier Roadmap and its requirements for the procurement of NHS goods, services, and works, and supports the NHS ambition to reach net zero for the emissions it can influence by 2045.

About our emissions

Waymap is a small, digital business. We develop and deliver an accessible navigation platform that guides people through complex buildings such as hospitals and transit stations. Our technology uses the sensors already built into users' smartphones, so our deployments need no beacons or other installed hardware, avoiding the materials, batteries, and maintenance visits that infrastructure-based systems require.

How we will deliver it

Measure
We will calculate a baseline of our scope 1, scope 2, and in-scope scope 3 emissions for the year ending 31 December 2026, using the GHG Protocol, and will report progress against it each year.

Travel
We will plan site visits to combine surveys and testing in as few trips as possible, use rail rather than air travel within the UK wherever practical, and hold meetings remotely where a visit is not needed.

Commuting and workplace
We will support hybrid working and low-carbon commuting, and choose workspace and energy suppliers with renewable electricity where we have that choice.

Digital services
We host our platform with a cloud provider that has its own published net zero and renewable energy commitments, and we will take emissions into account when choosing major suppliers.

Waste
We will minimise waste, reuse and recycle IT equipment at end of life, and use certified recyclers for electronic waste.

We will publish a Carbon Reduction Plan, setting out our baseline emissions and reduction targets, when our NHS contracts require one, and we will review this commitment at least once a year.
